๐Ÿฏ Plain-English summary

MamaBee is built for parents tracking their baby. By default everything you log stays on your device. If you turn on Co-Parent Sharing, your baby's profile and logs are copied to our own database so the co-parents you invite can see them. We use analytics tools that tell us how the app is used โ€” which screens get opened, that a log was created โ€” but never what's inside your logs: no names, no photos, no notes, no measurements. We never sell your data and there are no ads in the app.

What we collect

  • Baby profile โ€” name, date & time of birth, gender, country, optional photo.
  • Tracking logs โ€” sleep sessions, feeds, diaper changes (including any photo you attach), growth measurements, health events, milestones, activities, vaccinations.
  • App preferences โ€” measurement units, bottom-bar order, country selection.
  • Anonymous usage data โ€” a random ID we generate for your install, the app version, and your device's region and language.
  • Subscription status โ€” whether you have an active subscription.

We do NOT collect your location or your contacts. Notes you write stay on your device unless you turn on Co-Parent Sharing, which syncs them to our cloud with the rest of your logs.

Where your data lives

  • On your device, by default โ€” everything you log is stored locally in Apple's SwiftData store. Photos use external storage attached to the record so the database stays small.
  • On our server, if you turn on Co-Parent Sharing โ€” your baby's profile, logs and notes are copied to our cloud database, and full-size photos to our cloud file storage, so the co-parents you invite can see them.

To be straight with you: that cloud database is a server we run, not your private iCloud. Those records are technically accessible to us. We don't go looking at them, but we're not going to claim we can't.

  • Leaving a shared family stops the syncing.
  • Deleting your account removes the records we hold.

Every company we rely on to run the app โ€” cloud hosting, AI processing, subscriptions, ad measurement โ€” is bound by a written data processing agreement to handle your data only on our instructions, keep it confidential and secure, and never use it for their own purposes. They may not sell your data, and we never sell it to anyone.

Analytics

We use privacy-focused analytics providers to understand how the app is used. They receive:

  • Which screen you opened, and when you opened the app.
  • That a log was created and what type it was (feed, sleep, diaper) โ€” never the values, notes or photos inside it.
  • Your app version, and your device's region and language.

They never receive your baby's name, birth date, measurements, health records, photos, or anything you've typed.

Advertising measurement

We use advertising-measurement partners' tools to see whether our ads actually bring people to MamaBee. Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt decides whether they may use your device's advertising identifier โ€” if you choose "Ask App Not to Track", that's fully respected.

No ads are ever shown inside MamaBee.

Bee AI

When you tap a question in Bee AI, we send to our AI processing provider โ€” which routes it to a large-language-model provider:

  • Your question.
  • A summary of your baby's logged history.
  • Your baby's first name, age, date of birth and gender.

The only free text we send is the food you record for a solid-food meal, so the assistant knows what your baby ate. We do NOT send your baby's photo or the notes from any other log.

Voice logging works the same way: your speech is transcribed by Apple's speech recognition (on your device where supported, otherwise processed by Apple โ€” the audio is never stored or sent to us), then the text is handled exactly like a typed question.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled by Apple and by our subscription provider. We never see your card details โ€” we only receive whether your subscription is active.

What we don't do

  • No ads inside the app.
  • We never sell, rent or license your data.
  • We never send your baby's name, photos, notes or health values to analytics or advertising services.
  • No third-party login, and we don't collect your email address.
  • We don't build advertising profiles about you or your baby.

Your rights

You control your data directly from inside the app:

  • Export โ€” Profile โ†’ Data โ†’ Export as CSV / PDF.
  • Edit โ€” every record can be edited or deleted from the timeline.
  • Wipe โ€” Profile โ†’ Account โ†’ Delete Account erases your data on the device and the records we hold on our server.
  • Photos โ€” diaper photos and avatars can be removed from the record's edit screen.
  • Stop sharing โ€” leaving a shared family stops your logs syncing to our server.

Children

MamaBee is a tool used by adult parents to track their own infant. Babies are not users of the app. Parents are the data subjects of their account.

Contact

Questions or concerns about privacy? Email support@realmlabs.app and we'll respond within a few days. Updates to this policy will be highlighted here with a new "Last updated" date.

This policy is translated into several languages for convenience. If there is any discrepancy between a translation and the English version, the English version prevails.

Data permissions

Why we ask โ€” MamaBee asks for the minimum permissions needed to make a feature work. Every permission below is opt-in โ€” denying it just disables the feature, the rest of the app keeps working.

Photo Library

Why
Picking your baby's avatar in Profile, attaching food photos in the Solids journal, and attaching poo photos in the diaper log so you can monitor colour & consistency over the day.
If denied
You can still log everything โ€” just without photos.
Where to change
iOS Settings โ†’ MamaBee โ†’ Photos

Camera

Why
Taking a photo on the spot when adding a poo or solid food entry instead of picking from the gallery.
If denied
Photo attachments fall back to the photo library.

iOS Settings โ†’ MamaBee โ†’ Camera

Notifications

Why
Reminders for upcoming vaccinations on your country's schedule, and optional sleep-coach prompts.
If denied
All schedules still appear inside the app โ€” you just won't get a buzz.

Co-Parent Sharing

Why
Letting the co-parents you invite see the same logs. Turning it on copies your baby's profile and logs to our cloud database so their device can read them.
If off
MamaBee runs entirely on this device and nothing is copied to our server.
